In 2023, we developed a large-scale photovoltaic system for Ghielmimport, designed to meet the energy needs of an industrial and commercial building.
With an installed capacity of 480.93 kWp, the project involved a hybrid technical solution tailored to the roof’s varying characteristics: on one side, modules installed coplanar on a corrugated metal roof; on the other, a flat-roof configuration with inclined, ballasted structures. This approach allowed us to make the best use of all available surfaces, improving the system’s overall performance. Estimated annual production reaches approximately 480 MWh, contributing significantly to the site’s energy self-sufficiency.
A key aspect of the project is the RCP configuration, which allows the energy produced to be utilized directly. In this way, electricity is shared among multiple users, generating a twofold benefit: on the one hand, a reduction in energy costs for consumers; on the other, higher revenues for the developer through the internal sale of energy at more favorable terms than those offered by the grid.
The positive impact is also reflected in environmental terms: the plant prevents the emission of approximately 41 metric tons of CO₂ annually—equivalent to planting over 2,000 trees—making a tangible contribution to the energy transition.
This project demonstrates that, even in the industrial sector, it is possible to integrate advanced technological solutions to achieve tangible benefits from both an economic and environmental standpoint.
